The brief is to convert them into a learning campus for the regional and Asia Pacific employees to further their skills and knowledge. We added a linkway to connect all three bungalows with an additional pavilion for social events after their seminars. Traditional influenced furniture was custom designed with a modern twist.  This project was a competition entry for a new columbarium and crematorium to be built on an expansive religious establishment in Singapore. 
 The design takes inspiration from a Chinese tombstone ‘buried’ in the earth. A continuous ramp around the columbarium also harkens to the Chinese custom of paying obeisance to ancestors “拜山” at their ancestral graves, typically located atop hills.

The primary use of terracotta bricks in the facade is a subtle nod to the red terracotta roofs of the old crematorium. The nine woman strong team requested for a 'home´theme office where they could work in the comforts of their own space. One important design intent was to protect the private sphere of the employees while maintaining the visual continuity of the office. We separated the public from the private. Visitors are able to access the meeting room, pantry and washroom without access to work desks and director´s room. File storage was also a key element for this office due to contractual archiving obligations. Shelves for filing was designed as part of a wall feature which adds an additional texture to the office space. Burgundy red was added as an accent colour - analogous to their company logo. The styles and materials are appropriate and well considered. Structural challenges have been cleverly overcome, resulting in a well designed and thought-out space.” "This project very successfully achieved the transformation of an HDB flat with a series of simple interventions that achieved the clients brief for a Japanese inspired interior. We were particularly impressed by the customised furniture items that were produced for the project.” “This project displays an astonishing level of transformation to an interior. The materials are well chosen and provide comfort; the forms well articulated and provide defined yet flowing spaces; and the detailing sophisticated and sensitive – a most well-deserving winner.” Overall comment from the jury: "In a changing world, nothing is more important than adaptability and innovation.
